Montage is a editing device to either condense time or expand time.
In this montage, a man and a woman dance the night away, but due to unknown reasons, the woman leave the man confused and sad. A mysterious stranger emerges and causes havoc for the lovers and thus ends in the death of both men.
Beauty is a controversial subject. It is up to the individual what they believe beauty is. In this modern day society, however, we believe that certain people and features are the epitome of what that complicated word is. This places young people, trying to figure themselves out, in a situation they shouldn't have to face. The youth believe they are not worth being called beautiful because they don't fit in a certain size, their hair texture isn't straight and voluminous, layered. Their faces are clear of imperfections, even if they do tell themselves that the pictures are 'fixed' in photoshop. The damage is already done.
With all this in mind, I set out to the internet to find a poem that spoke of beauty. I didn't want choose a poem about how the standards of beauty are a bit messed up. I wanted to find a poem that was feel good about who you are even if it isn't perfect. I found the website hitrecord, and found the gem that I made this spoken word to. In this poem read by Jaquita Jackson (my mom) called .i.am...you.are. The poem encompasses everything that I was looking for and the video visually shows that beauty is everywhere.
Today in class we took Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) and I got one of the rarest types of INFJ. INFJs are introverts that mostly go with their feelings and want to make the world basically a better place. They mostly put others before themselves and don't try to live up to their own potential.
My favorite popular INFJs
They are quite reserved and keep their personal details about themselves to them and their personal close friends, which aren't a lot because they don't socialize with others often, and they don't like to anyway. They like taking care of the human condition and seeing if people are okay and making them better. INFJs prefer to work independently without the strains of other people on their shoulders. The ideal work environment would be one that the INFJ could show off their creativity independently with the topic of their personal values. This type thinks before they speak. I think this personality fits me. I knew I was an introvert before and I think I put others before myself and that's not always a good thing, but I do anyway. INFJs stand by their morals and ethics and I know I do. You can ask my brother who has ideas that are on the opposite spectrum of mine.
Knowing this helps a lot when it comes to understanding why sometimes I get really discouraged and unhappy with the present, but still look forward to a brighter future. It also gives more understanding on why sometimes I can't say everything about me just to anyone. I prefer to tell people who will stay close to me and have earned my trust. When I work with others, I prefer to keep everyone on task and motivated. I'm not really a strong leader because I'm quiet. I'd rather be the person who has the creative energy and vision and clears up any problems. I'd prefer to be in a group that takes time to consider. Fast paced groups that don't consider what could happen can make me feel alienated and not comfortable. When I'm not heard, I don't go out of my way to make myself heard. I just stay to myself and let it all fall apart. Most people think I don't like them because I don't talk to them, but it's mostly because I don't like just talking to random people. I prefer to warm up to people. That's not the case with my brother. We get along sometimes, but his personality is vastly different from mine. He likes to talk about controversial topics in order to change the way others think to think like him, but I refuse and mostly I don't want to talk about it all the time just at a drop of a hat. It irritates me, and him too, but he doesn't care and does it all the time. I've tried to explain to explain it to him, but I just come off as whining. In doing this assignment, I learned more about myself and why I do certain things that might be weird to other people. And that I'm silent because I don't like to talk to people, not because I don't like people. I learned that just because a celebrity has the same personality type doesn't mean that you should end up like them. (I got Hitler and Bin Laden as my personality types.)
Last semester I learned how to use different cameras like the Canon 60D and the Panasonic's which are a lot more advanced than the old GL2s that were strictly tape. The problem with GL2s were that sometimes the tapes would mess up and not record and you'd have to record again, which didn't help with projects in a time limit. I also learned how to make more professional looking videos. In that way, it's more like as I matured, so did the videos. I'm still in the process of learning to remember to turn microphones on. I didn't make as much videos as I thought I would. Hopefully in 2nd semester, I'll try to make more videos and try to refine my cinematography skills and maybe also my editing skills. I think I'll start applying myself more and actually get in there.
When you look my name up, you see that I'm mostly involved with music sites. There's also a site that I'm not really sure about.
I think I used it once to find something, I don't remember now, but it's nothing negative. But then as I intensely investigated my name, I found out that I was once a student of the month. For the most part, all of my information, like my picture, is old. I've learned that you shouldn't have your info everywhere and post everything about yourself on the internet. We live in a time where others can find you pretty easily and it can lead to detrimental issues like not getting the job you wanted or being accepted into your university or college of your choice. Looking myself up, I was really nervous. I've had this kind of technology around me since I was really little. Anything could have came up. The most I put on the internet is my first name. I have a very unique first name. If you search that you find a DJ, that's pretty cool. Too bad it's not me. So then there are errors with just searching for your online presence. If future colleges and employers searched my first name they wouldn't be able to find me until never. I'm in the 3rd row for pictures, but that's a while for finding me even for my unique name. When I'm online, I prefer to be anonymous. I don't like everyone knowing who am I, how they can find me. That can lead to bigger problems, like predators that look for vulnerable people to prey on. I've heard plenty scary stories where someone has given too much information to someone they do not know. I went to this seminar once that was meant to empower young women for careers and life. It was local women who put it on and they all wanted us to be safe on the internet. Never meet people from the internet. That show CATFISH can always just go wrong and put the people and MTV in danger. The bottom line is watch who you are on the internet. You might think no one is watching and your simple little comments mean nothing, but in reality, the world can see everything they do. And in my investigation, though it wasn't as thorough as it could have been, it's easy to find anyone. Even Waldo
